Goboservice manufactures both glass gobos and metal gobos.
It's important to know some differences in order to choose the right type of gobo for you.
Glass gobos
We are able to reproduce on glass gobos any kind of picture, from black and white texts to color photographs (up to 2540 dpi resolution).

This is the product we have invested the most in terms of R&D about production techniques and materials. Thanks to our commitment which dates back as far as 2002, now Goboservice has become a worldwide benchmark and our gobos have the highest quality level and technological content possible.
Beyond all that, our efficient organization gives you a fast manufacturing process from sending the offer to shipping the gobos.
Glass gobos are manufactured with materials able to withstand the heat and the UV radiations generated inside projectors and moving heads. The substrate is made of high-temperature resistant borosilicate glass. On one side there is a coating, a very thin film that can be made from aluminium, silicon or titanium. Please avoid using sharpened objects on the coated side (even if it is scratch-resistant) and clean it with a soft cloth.
According to the gobo types and their uses, our gobos will have 3 types of coating: 1. Matte Gray, with a grey side. Used in black and white gobos, it diffuses the undesired glares of light improving the quality of projection. 2. Glossy Dark, with a black side. Used in colored gobos, it eliminates the undesired glares of light. 3. Double Side, has both reflecting sides, used when the most versatility is required.
Metal gobos

They are made of stainless steel or alpacca (nickel-silver).
A 0.1mm thinness lets you get sharper details, but the resulting gobo may experience some distortion, losing somewhat its shape because of high temperature.
Our gobos' standard thickness is 0.2mm, but 0.1 to 0.7mm thicknesses can be manufactured too, on demand.
Since the picture is engraved by piercing the metal through chemical photoengraving, metal gobos can be used only for simple artworks.
The only real benefit of metal gobos is their low manufacturing price for large orders (at least 10 copies). |
